The GAP is Australia’s longest running video game podcast that delivers weekly discussions about the latest games and news. The GAP is recorded online every week by hosts Luke Lawrie and Joab Gilroy. It is available on major podcast platforms including iTunes, Windows Store, Spotify, YouTube, and more.

Starting in August 2009 The GAP began its journey at BigPond GameArena where the managing editor Joab “Joaby” Gilroy assembled a group of legendary people to talk about video games on a weekly basis. Joined by Luke Lawrie, Jason “Jae” Leong, and Heath Dickson the crew would discuss the games they were currently playing, wrap up the week in video game news, and really anything in between they felt like talking about. The show continued to evolve throughout 2010 with Jeremy “Junglist” Ray joining the team after being a frequent guest, and then to cap things off iTunes listed The GAP under the category of best new audio podcasts for their end of year awards. From here the ball kept on rolling.

With over 50 guests appearing on the show The GAP has delivered more than 550 episodes of podcast content, produced multiple online videos, participated in charity fund raising, appeared in live shows at conventions, and been on many more adventures. The GAP at its core idea was to have a collaboration of people from different media publications come together to talk about the things they all enjoyed – video games. The crew has had work they’ve created featured in a wide variety of publications including GameSpot, IGN, Kotaku, Stevivor, Red Bull Games, Gamepur, AusGamers, Destructoid, BigPond GameArena, Hyper Magazine, GameInformer, Australian Gamer, GamePlanet, PC PowerPlay, and more.
